  JWs Lack of Love and Feelings

  i have noticed the extreme lack of love in this group of people who preach love, love, love.. we recently had serious floods come through our area and the jws couldnt have cared less.

  our 'worldly' friends did sooo much for us though.

  raising money, giving gifts, cards, accomodation and so much support and hard work.. i personally think jws are one of the most insensitive, uncaring religions around.. three religious groups were absolutely wonderful during the flooding of our area.

  Botswana, Please don't allow yourself to get so down hearted that you want to do yourself in. Would you consider getting rid of your gun? Sell it? Your life and how good you live it, is a testimony to your dad and how much he loved you. If you can, in time, have children. You are the only one left to tell them about the grandpa they will never meet. And yes. Leave your mom, Mommy Dearest, out of the picture. Focus on your dad and how he would want you to have a good, long life. He would not want you to commit suicide.

  I am so sorry your family ever heard of that group of men from Brooklyn, let alone joined their "Club".

  I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your great Dad. Your comment that they didn't want someone, who was trained under Frank Lloyd Wright, to rock their little safe world, is probably correct. What a disappointment for him.

  When your house burns down and everything is gone, if you don't need help then, when would it be? Disgusting how these JW's treated you.

  I can imagine the joy your father felt, his son is married and bringing his wife home! Cocktail shrimp for 200! What a happy party your dad felt in his heart for you! I am so, so, so sorry how those uncaring, heartless, cruel JW's treated you and your dad and your wife.

  Where does the cruelty, stop? Your dad is dead in the next room and the Elder throws him under the bus? Heartless!

  You have been divorced for 3 years, your ex is renting a place with a man, and they hassle you?

  You and your dad must have really upset the Elders with your heart of gold. I can only wish you and all of us who have been mistreated by this Book Club, a long and healthy and happy life.

  i have been out of the "truth" for about 13 years, but 9 of those years i was someone who was out but thinking i would probably go back at some point...out but not all the way out mentally.

  my family are still active members and i am a little bit shunned, not invited to family get togethers, that sort of thing.

  i was one of those people that left and then did drugs and partied for a while.

  Does anybody know how they elect new Governing Body members?

  now that "habemus papam", i was wondering how it is that someone in the watchtower becomes a member of the governing body.

  does anybody know?.

  and, how do they choose who gets to be a member of the corporations?.

  I have no idea. But if we are talking "Holy Spirit", why is there 2/3 vote on anything? That sounds like plain men making decisions...Aren't they, like the Catholic Pope, suppose to be our mediator...Do they all "hear" something different? How is electing/anointing/appointing a new Governing Body member, any different than for those, voting for a new Pope. If God speaks to you, how can there be so many different opinions?

  The heartless Witness and his treatment of his two brothers at their aunt's wake!

  my cousin by marriage had a wake for his mom last night.

  he's a jehovah's witness and so are his cousins ( 3 brothers ) .

  two of the brothers are disfellowshipped and the oldest brother serves as a ministerial servant.. i walk in the funeral home and see one of the disfellowshipped brothers sitting in the last row of seats.

  i happened to be on facebook today, when in the message section, i see on the left a column of the latest private correspondences with various folks.

  one is from bex, a former jw in my area who passed away on 12/31.

  dated from 8/10, her last words to me were, fade well.. .
